The main fabric is 600 denier polyester with 4-way stretch, so it's tough against abrasion but still lets you move freely. There are zippers EVERYWHERE: cargo pockets on the chest and thighs for tools, plus mesh-lined ventilation pockets on the thighs to let air in on hot days. There's even a front zipper for... you know, quick pit stops. The shoulder straps are wide elastic, making them easy to jump into. Up top, there are MOLLE straps so you can clip on a radio, hydration pack, or tools. The inside has a super soft tricot lining that's optimized for knee braces.
