Need to add a little security to a desk drawer, filing cabinet, or small locker? This 2-pack of cam locks from PATIKIL is a simple solution. They're 'keyed different,' which is actually a useful feature – it means each of the two locks has its own unique key. So you can use them on two different cabinets and have separate keys, which is better for individual access control. The lock body (the cylinder part) is 25mm (about 1 inch) long, so it's suitable for panels up to about 18mm thick. The mounting hole you need to drill is 17.5mm in diameter. The lock is made from zinc alloy and steel with a chrome-like plating, so it should resist rust for indoor use. Installation is straightforward: drill the hole, insert the lock, attach the cam (the little rotating arm) on the back, and you're done. You turn the key 90 degrees to lock/unlock, and you can remove the key in either position. Just be sure to measure your cabinet door/drawer thickness to make sure this length will work. A cheap and easy way to deter casual snooping.
