It comes with two fans: one clips directly onto your 540-sized motor's heatsink, and the other plugs right into the auxiliary port on your VXL-3S ESC. It's a complete cooling solution.
The motor fan attaches to a black anodized aluminum heatsink that slips over the motor can, pulling heat away with its fins. The ESC fan mounts on top of the VXL-3S unit. Both fans are powered directly from your receiver/ESC (they run on 5-6V), so no extra batteries are needed. Installation is straightforward with just a few screws.
